Rare item: 80s MARIKO LONDON Mariko London, new with tags, textile design knit.
Mariko Tadakuma
Employed as the first Japanese textile designer at Liberty of London, she created numerous hit products, from skirt and dress fabrics to cross fabrics, curtains, and interior items such as carpets. In 1981, she received the Valitex Best Design Award, attracting worldwide attention.
In 1984, she partnered with Marubeni and started the "Mariko LONDON" license business.
She also attracts attention from young women, such as by creating creative kimonos using Uno Kanda.
Currently, she is active in Tokyo and London.
